lol - what's yours?
update: i can not believe that the debate over the word is still going on - and there are some very bright and funny folks in the comments of both of these ping-pong'n blogs. ya'll have to much time on your hands - go outside and throw a frisbee around w/ your kid or dog will ya. podcast as a term simply has the sex appeal that was needed to spark the concept and start the conversation growing - the media that is contained w/in the payload of the feed is totally irrelevant - it's the concept of create, publish, subscribe and synchronize that is the true magic of all this, and all done globally. who cares what it's call - just do it ;)
no wait - that would be a nikecast, never-mind...
oh, and when i originally entered podcasting as a term in wikipedia on oct. 2, 2004 it was to specially stop this sort of lunacy from clogging up good blogs - let the community edit and decide - move on people :)
no disrespect meant to any of my friends of course :-p

Heh, ok this is amusing - doubly so since I mentioned that in my last podcast.
I swear there is a 'hive mind' developing where bloggers all observe the same thing at once, blog it - then discover everyone else has had the same thought.
You gotta love the inkernet. :)

Oops - that track back has a little - ehm.. profanity in it. I really should temper my language sometimes. :)

I can't believe all of the arguing either. Are people afraid of what will happen once they get past it? Crazy!

Some could say it's political correctness gone too far (can't name it "podcast" cause that suggests the iPod, and we want a non denominational non portable media name - hear us roar)..
Others, well, if you become the person who defines the 'new' name for podcasting, then I guess there are bragging rights & publicity runs to chow down on..
Me? My money is on the obsessive 'must be politically and non denominationally correct at all times' concept that's all the rage at present. "Podcast" rolls off the tongue, everyone knows it and Apple are about to run with it. As it is, there are podcasts being hit with iTunes 4.9 right now, so it can't be far away now. Once a big corporate like Apple runs with the name, it would be pointless trying to change it.
