Doc’s Podblog - Road noise abatement
"Any ideas? I’m up in the Bay Area, so maybe I could go by Fry’s and get something. Microphone recommendations would also be welcome."
i use an iriver ifp 799 & two mics depending on surroundings - either a griffin stereo mic if i want to soundsee and pickup tons of sounds (like lots of folks talking individually in a room) but it is very hot so very noisy locations just washout all sounds or a radioshack omnidirectional mic which is mono only but does a good job of capturing my voice and some surrounding sounds but not all, thus no washout...
downside for you doc is it does require the use of their windows based importing program which converts from their format to mp3, from there you can do anything you want to it...
i know dave slusher is using a device he likes, so is frank from overnightscape and the folks @ sf chron have theirs too...
btw - the reason why i'm trackbacking this is that your site is not setup to register comments yet - i'm sure once that's setup and functioning, post like this one would probably be better as a comment ;)
