late to the game and clueless

Macworld UK - Apple trademarks iPodcast while vPod rumours grow

"Apple to have applied for the trademark of the term "iPodcast" in two categories: hardware, (including computers, handheld devices, data carriers and recording, transmission and reproduction of sounds, images or other data), and "services", (including telecommunications, computer communications, bulletin boards and so on)."

note to apple: podcasting is not about the device, never was - it's about the xml format (rss w/ media enclosure) and the process (concept to production to distribution to subscription to consumption - then repeat starting at concept)...

welcome to revisionist history 101 gentle readers:  <sarcasm> apple - the innovator behind the (i)podcasting phenomenon would like to set the record straight - it's an (i)podcast now, not a podcast - got it. </sarcasm>

my god, how amazingly clueless can a company that in it's early days set the standard for innovative marketing & advertising...
