Standing something stills stands for something. Technology has the great ability and it seems hunger to expand but a core foundation - be it values, positioning is essential to hold ones community together. So the proliferation of the social sites and their desire to be all things - though perhaps the technology would permit - will be the undoing. I don't want the doctor to operate on me who while being a surgeon is also a therapist and an internist - I want the best surgeon. One stop community is counter to the web.

The proliferation of the social sites and their desire to be all things, though perhaps the technology would permit. Once you put your money and name behind something it created some level of peceived value that all others in the space will leverage to the max remember that the bursting of the bubble was not fun the first time.
